Primary Job Objectives

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Engage with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to gather, prioritize, and document product requirements. Ensure that these align with both user needs and industry trends, maintaining open lines of communication throughout the development process.

  • Define and Document Product Features: Clearly define and articulate product features through comprehensive documentation, including use cases, user stories, and functional specifications. Facilitate development teams' understanding by providing detailed insights into the product's functionality and expected outcomes.

  • Product Roadmap and Release Planning: Develop and maintain a strategic product roadmap, outlining feature development timelines, release schedules, and dependencies. Regularly update the roadmap to reflect changes in priorities, business needs, or market conditions.

  • Prioritize Features and Requirements: Utilize business objectives, customer feedback, market research, and competitive analysis to determine and prioritize product features. Ensure that the highest value features are developed first, balancing customer needs with business goals.

  • Identify Integration Opportunities: Proactively identify and define integration opportunities, especially with complex enterprise systems like SAP. Expand product capabilities by developing integration strategies that meet the advanced needs of large enterprise customers, particularly those in laboratory informatics environments.

  • Enhance SAP Collaboration: Strengthen organizational knowledge and partnerships with SAP by maintaining a deep understanding of SAP modules and integration techniques. Act as a liaison to ensure that the product integrates seamlessly with SAP, enhancing data flow, operational efficiency, and overall product value.

  • Develop Revenue Forecasts and Measure Performance: Collaborate with the sales and finance teams to develop product revenue forecasts. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure sales performance against forecasted targets, and provide actionable insights to adjust product strategy as needed.

  • Customer Engagement and Thought Leadership: Support the creation and management of customer engagement programs, including advisory boards, user groups, and domain-specific expert panels. Foster relationships with industry leaders to gather feedback and share product roadmaps.

  • Content Development: Write and contribute to product marketing collateral, including sales presentations, website copy, social media content, and white papers. Ensure messaging is consistent with product capabilities and resonates with target customers.

  • Ensure Alignment with User Requirements: Continuously validate that product user requirements are being met during each iteration of software development. Coordinate closely with development teams and perform acceptance testing to ensure products are delivered as specified.

  • Industry-Specific Product Expertise: Oversee the development of industry-specific product components and solutions. Provide expertise on laboratory informatics trends and needs, ensuring the product remains competitive and relevant.

  • Stay Informed on Emerging Technologies: Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies, market trends, and best practices in laboratory informatics, SAP integrations, and product development. Apply this knowledge to inform product strategy, feature development, and customer solutions.

  • Collaborate with Development Teams: Work closely with development teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of product features. Provide continuous feedback throughout the development lifecycle and assist in troubleshooting any issues that arise during implementation.

  • Champion Exceptional User Experience: Ensure a seamless and exceptional user experience by considering usability, interface design, and user feedback in all phases of product development. Advocate for the end user to create intuitive and impactful product interfaces.

  • Training and Enablement: Lead the creation and delivery of product training programs for internal teams, ensuring they are well-prepared to support and promote new products prior to public launches. Develop training materials and facilitate workshops as needed.

  • Maintain Product Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive product documentation to support internal teams such as customer service, sales, and marketing. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and accessible.

  • Support Customer Training Events: Contribute to the annual customer training and education conference, providing expertise on product usage and future developments. Participate in ad hoc customer events as needed to engage with users and gather feedback.

Job Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Must hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, information systems, laboratory sciences, or business management. Advanced degrees or certifications are preferred.

  • Experience in Laboratory Informatics: Minimum of 4+ years of experience managing laboratory processes, improving laboratory efficiency using Lean methodologies, or ing process improvement techniques in laboratory settings.

  • Product Management and Business Analysis Experience: Previous experience as a product manager or business analyst, ideally within the laboratory informatics or LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) domain. strong understanding of the laboratory environment, workflows, and technology requirements.

  • Knowledge of LIMS or Similar Systems: In-depth familiarity with LIMS or similar laboratory informatics platforms is preferred. Proven experience in designing or managing laboratory software solutions is highly beneficial.

  • System Integration Expertise: Proven track record of integrating complex systems, particularly in the laboratory informatics space. Expertise in aligning LIMS with enterprise systems such as SAP to optimize operational efficiency and data flow.

  • SAP Integration Experience: Advanced understanding of SAP modules, integration techniques, and best practices. Experience in aligning laboratory informatics systems with SAP to streamline operations is a plus.

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: strong analytical abilities, with a proven track record of solving complex problems in both technical and business contexts. Capable of making informed decisions based on data, market analysis, and user feedback.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to create compelling presentations, reports, and product documentation.

  • Collaboration and Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders. strong leadership and project management capabilities.

  • Customer-Focused Approach: A deep commitment to delivering high-quality products that meet the needs of customers. Proven ability to advocate for users throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring a user-centric approach to product development.

  • Certification in Product Management: PMC III or higher certification from Pragmatic Institute (or equivalent) is preferred. Demonstrated experience ing formal product management methodologies is advantageous.

  • Team-Oriented Mindset: A collaborative team player with a focus on building relationships across global teams. Able to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team environment, contributing to a positive and inclusive workplace.

  • Interest in Global Collaboration: Experience working with global teams and an interest in cross-cultural collaboration are highly valued for this role.
