Robert Half Payroll and Benefits Manager in Somerset, New Jersey

Description

An exciting new Payroll and Benefits Manager is open in the Somerset area. This role is hybrid, with fantastic work life balance/flexibility. Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee our payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal regulations. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of payroll, including recordkeeping and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process for 500-600 employees, semi-monthly.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

  • Maintain and update payroll records and reports, including deductions, benefits, garnishments, and taxes.

  • Handle employee inquiries related to payroll, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of payroll tax filings.

  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate and timely data entry for new hires, terminations, and employee changes.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes that impact payroll processes.

  • Prepare payroll reports and summaries as needed for management.

  • Lead and manage payroll audits and work closely with external auditors.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management, with a strong understanding of payroll practices and laws.

  • Proficiency with payroll software ADP WFN.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred.
