JOB OVERVIEW

Support Supervisor in running pouching/packaging lines; coordinating labor and materials in addition to recording productivity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive and Load materials and products into package processing equipment

  • Assist Packaging Supervisor in the organization and verification of labor at beginning of shift.

  • Communicate, instruct, train and direct crew in their job performance

  • Report food safety and quality issues to Plant management and SQFP

  • Follow PIM Brands GMP rules

  • Monitor fellow employees for adherence to GMPs.

  • Enter and verify data into M3 at beginning and end of shift.

  • Assist in orchestrating lunch relief.

  • Enter and verify data into M3 at end of shift

  • Keep area clean and tidy

  • Obtain, move, and sort products, materials, containers

  • Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met

  • Measure, weigh, and count products and materials

  • Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records

  • Mark and label all material and containers properly

  • Must learn operation of machine centers that you lead

  • Must stock and prepare line for changeover by staging material and paperwork

  • Must return material physically and systematically on changeovers

  • Must conduct feed audit at start and end of shift and fix and/or report any discrepancies

  • Remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them in their designated locations

  • Operate process within specified processing parameters designed to meet customer specifications

  • Operate within given SOP parameters that ensure desired food quality results

  • Operate at desired production rates

  • Ability to work additional hours if needed

  • Ability to work Independently

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling and crouching. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controls. Lifting and moving of objects weighing at least 35 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be evaluated and considered to enable an individual to perform the essential job functions.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Job will generally be performed in the manufacturing plant. When on the plant floor it is representative of a large, busy manufacturing operation. Noisy, active, objects on the floor, constant movement and traffic flow of motorized equipment. Hair net, beard net, assigned work uniform, protective eye wear and gloves are among the GMP required apparel that must be worn, if indicated, on the plant floor.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

  • High School education or equivalent is strongly preferred

  • Ability to follow and give directions

  • Must keep area clean

  • Must have the ability to keep up with the pace of the packaging line. .

  • Must be able to move pallets with hand jacks & Electric Jacks

  • Basic math and computer skills are strongly preferred

  • Willing to be trained and coached

  • Ability to read, speak, and write English is required
