About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Lifting Appointed Person who is keen to join our company to complement our existing project delivery team. The Lifting AP is accountable for the supervision, direction and monitoring of day to day lifting operations on site, ensuring that all lifting activities follow outlined processes and detailed lift plans. The candidate will be authoring lift plans and should prioritise safe lifting, have good communication skills (both verbally and written) and have experience directing lifting teams on complex construction sites.

The candidate will aid in delivering projects to our key clients and driving the growth of our business in this sector by managing the following tasks:

  • Responsible for planning and excuting of lifting operations on site.

  • Construct safe systems of work by writing Lift Plans which include Method Statements, Risk Assessments using given information and be able to produce, understand and implement AutoCAD drawings or other drawing applications for Lifting purposes.

  • Plan and execute the lift plan requirements in line with us and clients procedures.

  • To ascertain job requirements from drawings or other specifications.

  • Explain in detail the work to be carried out to the work group and lift supervisor.

  • Have knowledge of LOLER, PUWER and BS7121.

  • Reporting back project progress to the wider delivery team, Lead AP and Construction Manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • CPCS A61 Blue Card holder.

  • ECITB Moving Loads.

  • IOSH Managing Safety.

  • Trained to NVQ Level 5.

  • Considerable site experience on Nuclear, Petro Chemical, Gas or similar establishments.

  • Lift Spervisor would be advantageous.

  • NEBOSH would be advantageous.

  • UK Driving License and ability to attain desired security clearance level.
