Position Summary:

The Senior Digital Manufacturing Manger is responsible deploying newly formed connected worker tools for the NUSA Technical & Production factories and corporate teams in conjunction with the Operations Excellence strategies diving improvements to our businesses. As a Sr. Digital Manufacturing Manager, you will be leading projects and personnel in the following areas: (1) Connected Worker Tools, (2) Internet of Things - IoT, (3) Data-Historians, (4) Dashboarding, (5) Data Analytics, (6) Predictive and Prescriptive Technology or (7) Custom Solutions, with a heavy emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Advanced Process Controls (APC). You are also responsible for implementing new technology, software, and methodologies for use in our manufacturing environment, to improve performance, reduce costs, and/or leapfrog our competition. You will also need to have the ability to convince business decision makers (via storytelling and business case development) to allow for experimentation and development projects. You must have the ability to plan, execute, and oversee projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. A sense of urgency and ability to work under tight deadlines are critical for success in this role. You need to be self-motivated and driven with results focus.

Normal travel required is 30%, mainly USA, international possible. Up to 50% travel may be required during critical phases of projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Innovation in Digital Manufacturing: Implementing cutting edge business intelligence solutions, conducting deep dive analyses of business problems, and assisting in identifying opportunities to address business needs with highly technology solutions.

  • Building Real-Time Manufacturing Visibility Platform: Using common manufacturing visualization platforms, you will be developing and building an enterprise-wide visualization platform to support troubleshooting and decision making.

  • Driving Operational Improvement Projects: Focusing on sustainable gains in reliability, quality, safety, cost, and delivery using methodologies like Nestle Continuous Excellence, TPM, and LEAN fundamentals. Assist functions/manufacturing groups in identifying opportunities, collecting, analyzing business requirements, and performing data analysis to address business needs.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with division, factory, and internal partners to achieve business outcomes.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of technical leadership experience and/or project management in industrial environment.

  • 2+ years of experience supporting software development and/or implementation projects. Past roles may include systems integrator, software developer, and/or systems engineer required.

  • 1+ years of experience working in factory with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) or other high-performance team program.

  • Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies and strategy development preferred.

  • Experience with industrial control systems and manufacturing platforms (SCADA, MES, MOM, Data-Historians, etc.) preferred.

  • Experience with OT (Operations Technology) preferred.

  • Experience with AI, ML and/or APC preferred.

  • Experience in CPG manufacturing industry preferred.

  • Experience with Food and Beverage manufacturing would be highly preferred.

  • Experience with TrendMiner, TwinThread, BrainCube, OSI-PI Platform, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and/or Data Historian would be highly preferred.

  • Technical and Project Leadership: Ability to plan, execute, and oversee projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. Must be able to lead a team effectively requiring strong people management skills including motivation and driving toward project success. Ensuring strong change management principles and an owner's mindset into all decision-making processes. Being adept at collaborating across various departments to facilitate unified goals amidst differing perspectives. Additionally, they must be capable of deriving value from new technologies and judiciously assessing the associated risks.

  • Intellectual Curiosity and Continuous Learning: Strong Intellectual curiosity in all forms of technology is a must, with the ability to convert those ideas into applicable experiments and initiatives to support business outcomes. Commitment to staying current with the rapidly evolving fields of AI, ML, and APC. Ability to keep up to date with the latest advancements in automation technology.

  • Strategic Thinking and Story Telling: Ability to develop and implement innovation strategies that align with the company's goals. This includes the ability to build business cases (or feasibility studies) and convince others to support experimentation and initiative that have business benefits.

  • Technical Proficiency: Basic understanding of AI and ML algorithms, programming languages and exposure with Advance Process Control systems. Basic understanding of PLC hardware and software, including programming languages like Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, and Structured Text.

  • Process User Interface Design: Proficiency in designing user interfaces that are both functional and visually engaging. Understanding of user experience principles to ensure the interface is user-friendly and meets the needs of the target audience. Ability to create prototypes to test and refine designs before final implementation. Familiarity with manufacturing graphic design software platforms. Work closely with stakeholders to bring the design to life.

  • Systems Engineering and Design: Basic understanding of how to integrate AI and ML models into existing process control systems. Ability to design and implement complex control systems that integrate with various industrial processes. Familiarity with industry standards, such as ANSI/ISA-95 and ANSI/ISA-88.

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges. Analyzing market trends, consumer needs, and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities for innovation. Sense of success (ability to fail fast, when necessary).

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work with teams across different engineering disciplines to implement projects and initiatives. Clearly communicate both orally and in writing, business/technology concepts across all levels of organization. Ability to address IT and Security requirements as they develop within projects and initiatives.
