Job Overview Support the quality activities for Solon Operations Provide Quality Support to Solon QA Lead, UG NE Region Quality, Solon product line Develop and maintain procedures and processes to ensure the quality of Solon's OE product line. Conduct Internal Audits of the Quality Management System Implement and maintain flawless processes for Solon Operations Reduce the total cost of quality through: Root Cause Analysis Corrective and Preventive Action Use of Quality Tools Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma In addition, the following Major Responsibilities apply to all employees: identifies areas of self-development and plays an active role in personal growth, Seeks out, accepts, and applies feedback and coaching, and Formally documents objectives and performance results using the Komatsu Global GPS System within required timeframes Key Job Responsibilities Investigate the causes of quality costs and initiate corrective and preventative actions Support managing / improving established Quality Tools (Reject Tracking, QRQC program, etc.) Support ISO Certification Conduct Warranty analysis of Solon product Provide technical support and daily direction to inspection workforce Support Quality personnel with CMM training and CMM offline programming. Develop and implement process and product audits for Solon processes. Maintain a current level of knowledge of government global specifications and regulations as it applies to the industry Develop quality processes to collect, monitor and provide performance feedback to Solon manufacturing operations, OE Factories and Suppliers. Maintain quality metrics and data in the Solon and Global Quality databases. Develop and implement inspection procedures and work instructions for Solon Operations to improve process and product quality Support and/or conduct training to increase job skill level of the inspection work force and personnel from other functional areas, as applicable. Work with process owners to develop process measurements to effectively communicate the site's performance throughout the region Support the gage calibration program. Recommend the purchase of new equipment and systems to reduce quality costs and meet the strategic business plan Support the creation of rework orders to correct quality deficiencies as appropriate Qualifications/Requirements A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in science, business, mathematics, or engineering is desirable. An Associate's Degree or equivalent in science, business, mathematicsor engineeringoraminimum of 5 years' experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance/ field that can demonstrate the skills required as listed above. A minimum of 5 years' experience in gearmanufacturing is highly preferred. Polyworks CMM programming or other related software is required. Must be able to read and interpret detailed machining & gear manufacture type engineering drawings. Rudimentary knowledge of mechanical assemblies, hydraulics and electronics.
