The Director Strategic Marketing will develop and drive medium- to long-term corporate strategies with support from the C-suite and Executives, ensuring these strategies are backed by solid business rationales. They will analyze market trends, identify target markets, and devise plans to boost revenue through strategic product and service initiatives. Clear communication of these strategies to the broader organization is crucial for cross-functional alignment and execution.

The candidate will establish a governance process for continuous, end-to-end alignment and achievement of goals. They will also develop key market indicators to gauge market and company growth, lead demand generation, and sales enablement programs.

As a leader of cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Sales, and Product, they will ensure successful execution and delivery of key messages in programs and events. The role involves developing strategic marketing and programs to enhance awareness, consideration, business development, and scale sales distribution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • ​​Develop medium- and long-term enterprise-wide strategies through a deep understanding of served markets, customer plans, and core company values.

  • ​Support cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of market and selling strategies by providing market vision, guidance, and direction.

  • ​Analyze market trends, identify target markets, and create plans to drive revenue with product and service strategies.

  • ​Identifies target applications, markets, customers, and other opportunities that align to corporate business objectives.

  • ​Direct team in the development and execution of cross functional market plans. Interface with product management, finance, engineering, operations and sales and service centers to ensure plans are consistent with corporate objectives.​

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • MBA required, engineering degree preferred

  • 10+ years of marketing experience

  • 5+ years of management experience

  • Experience leading or working directly with product management

  • Experience with distribution channel management and/or strategy development

Critical Competencies:

  • ​​Clear thinker & communicator - Analyze, understand, & simplify complex information - prioritize and communicate effectively & appropriately in both written and verbal forms

  • ​Business Acumen - Must have a strong knowledge of finance, marketing, systems thinking, and specific-market business practices

  • ​Organizational Awareness – able to understand how Swagelok and its distributors take products to market & how customers value the sales proposition

  • ​Achievement - drives self and others to accomplish goals, including those who do not directly report​

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
