MISSION / SUMMARY:

Understand and align all business operations within a Manufacturing/Production Department initiatives as he/she executes their role in the overall converting process to meet or exceed expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, and financial objectives. Ensures compliance to established customer quality and production standards.

Plans and controls production performance as measured against operating targets developed according to machine capabilities, manpower capabilities, and projected business. Provides technical training and support to management and employees with regards to the plant’s product safety programs (HACCP, SQF, Food Defense, etc.) and Lean initiatives.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following .

Instructions : This portion should include Principal Duties and Responsibilities for a position. Include only those current duties and responsibilities that account for 5% or more of the work.

  • Provide expert guidance and directions in Cutting

  • Raw material inventory and ordering.

  • Monitors and consistently works towards process improvement and high quality results.

  • Supervision of all hourly employees.

  • Involved in the recruiting selection process, performance reviews, and all measures of progressive discipline.

  • Manage and maintain a safe work environment.

  • Employee development.

  • Assist in troubleshooting problems.

  • Complete all necessary reports.

  • May be required to meet with internal and external customers.

  • Maintain solid employee relations and promote positive culture.

  • Ensures plant’s compliance to 3rd party Functional Control / Pre-Requisite program requirements including: HACCP, SQF, and other customer-mandated programs.

  • Conducts annual training in HACCP, GMP’s, Food defense, and Allergens

  • Provides support in the plant’s Lean activities

  • Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or related field preferred

  • 3-5 years experience in manufacturing

  • Inventory and raw material consumption

  • Familiar with AIB / HACCP / SQF compliance standards

  • Familiar with Food defense compliance standards

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to lead and direct others

  • Prior management or supervisory experience preferred

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet research skills

  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred

  • Experience with Minitab software and SAP is a plus

  • Travel required

  • Visual Color Discrimination, the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule is a 9-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedule; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

  • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, or riding.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 9-hours.

  • Occasional bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting required.

  • Simple and power grasping with both right and left hands is required.

  • Occasional Lifting up to 25 lbs.

  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.

  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.

Pay Range: $88,600.00 - $118,100.00
