Experienced CNC Lathe Operator

Primary Function:

• Set up and operate finishing machines to manufacture gears from raw material.

Tools and Equipment:

• Lifting equipment, hand tools, measuring tools, drills, taps, and Kronos barcoding system.

Supervision:

• Reports to the Department Supervisor.

• No direct supervision responsibilities; consults with group leader as needed.

Work Procedure:

• Complete operator verification sheets.

• Verify and document sizes and micro finishes for each part.

• Check for run-out to .001 or as specified.

• Inspect inserts and parts to ensure they meet print specifications.

• Have the first part inspected by the inspection department.

• Reject non-conforming parts according to guidelines.

• Follow grinding best practices.
