Automation Engineer (Solon, Ohio)
Client in Solon, Ohio is in need of an Automation Engineer to assist with equipment installations, site acceptance Testing, and troubleshooting efforts of various pieces of equipment and machinery. This position is a Contract without an end date.
Support On-site installation and new machine interfacing projects by providing expertise and consult in areas of design, programming, simulation and testing of automated machinery and processes.
Technical studies for suitable product selection for applications.
Electrical controls and interfacing of equipment.
Project site installation and commissioning.
Assist with equipment installation and Site Acceptance Test. This could include mechanical and electrical installation, as well as troubleshooting for robotic, controls, and vision systems.
Help with the preparation of procedures and other manufacturing documentation necessary to run automation equipment.
Assist with training operators to run the equipment to document procedures.
Provide on-site assistance for trouble-shooting, quality improvements, capability issues, productivity improvement, and machine performance tracking for newly installed equipment.
5+ years of experience in manufacturing / factory automation of robotics (equipment installation, troubleshooting, and debug).
Experience on at least one larger project in safety, installation issues and robotics.
Experience installing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, vision, and control systems.
Experience programming robots (Fanuc and Staubli) and other controls (Rockwell / Allen Bradley, etc.), and integrating vision systems into automation (Cognex) a huge plus.
Demonstrate mechanical aptitude for performing component repair or replacement.
