Why work at Spacelabs? Because lives depend on you! The Principal Electrical Engineer leads in the design, innovation, implementation and testing of best-in-class systems for patient monitoring. Provides technical support for projects involving low power medical analog, microprocessor, micro-controller and digital circuit design, in the development of patient monitoring products. Work content includes component and sub-system level testing, proto- typing and design work, simulation and component selection. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical engineering, particularly within the medical device industry, and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements. #LI-Hybrid Responsibilities Provide leadership for design, development, and testing of electrical systems of next generation medical monitoring devices. Take design and implementation ownership of large portions of the new products planned and currently under development. Investigate, plan and execute design enhancements and general sustaining support for existing products currently shipping. Ensure compliance with medical device regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 60601). Innovate and deploy new state of the art concepts in Communications, Analog, Power supply, video and Bus topologies. Perform component and sub-system level design, proto-typing and testing work. Develop solutions by assisting with simulation and component selection. Oversee, and approve, all PCB layout efforts for all designs under your control. Develop, write, edit, review and release Test plans in accordance with Spacelabs Document control processes. Test and debug systems by evaluating and validating programs/systems and specifications for new and existing Spacelabs products. Execute, review and release HW test reports as assigned by HW leadership. Proactively provide communication, both written and verbal. Ensure all QMS and regulatory requirements are met for assigned projects. Interface with departmental staff in all of Research & Development to facilitate the completion of project tasks by providing technical support to in-house personnel. Lead and mentor junior engineers in design and following process. Uphold the Company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork. Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required, Master's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred. 10+ years' experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in the medical device industry. Experience with medical device regulatory requirements and standards. Experience with design of high-density multi-layer PC boards, ASICs, and FPGA.<
