The Wayne County Schools Career Center is accepting applications for the position of:

Custodian -- Cleaner Part Time

STARTING DATE: TBD

SALARY: Appropriate step on the classified salary schedule.

REPORTS TO: Lynn Moomaw, Director of Operations & the Maintenance Manager.

WORK WEEK/YEAR: Monday -- Friday, 5 ¾ hours per day.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: BCI and FBI criminal records results less than one-year old must be submitted prior to initial employment and as required thereafter.

BASIC FUNCTIONS: To provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable, orderly, and clean educational environment.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a high school diploma, GED or proof of graduation. Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in commercial custodial work. Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and 50 pounds regularly and push/pull at least 100 pounds. Ability to stand and walk, bend at the waist, twist and turn for extended periods. Must be able to set up and work safely on a lightweight 12 foot ladder. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions. Ability to interact effectively with students, staff and the public. Proficient in use of technology applicable to job function (i.e. email, Internet access).

WCSCC is a public high school that provides career-technical training and academic courses for high school students grades 11 and 12. In addition, the Adult Education Center offers training and educational opportunities for adults.
