Program Summary

KBR proudly serves as the performance-based contractor for Base Operations Services at the Aegis Ashore Missile Defence System in Naval Support Facility (NSF) Redzikowo, Poland. This program focuses on the deployment and operational management of the sophisticated Aegis system, designed to intercept, and neutralize short- and medium-range ballistic missiles. Our primary mission is to ensure seamless base operations, directly enhancing strategic defence capabilities.

NSF Redzikowo, housing the second Aegis Ashore system, plays a crucial role in NATO's defence against missile threats. Commissioned in September, the facility emphasizes our commitment to supporting key military infrastructures. Its strategic location northwest of Warsaw, near the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, positions it strategically in European defence.

Our involvement in NSF Redzikowo includes comprehensive Base Operations Services, showcasing KBR's expertise in managing complex military facilities. The base incorporates essential infrastructure, such as administrative offices, housing, dining facilities, security buildings, and athletic facilities—all maintained to the highest standards.

Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Food Service Manager with excellent customer relations, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to oversee our Base Galley/Food Service operations. In this role, you'll provide strong leadership and direction to our team of cooks, chefs, and Galley/Food Service Workers, ensuring smooth planning, organization, and management of all food service aspects. Your responsibilities will include upholding the highest standards of service, monitoring compliance with health and safety regulations, and executing special functions with finesse. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of Galley Services operations, including food handling, preparation, budgeting, subsistence ordering, warehousing, menu planning, and facility health and sanitation concerns.

  • Coordinate with customers and integrate galley support activities, including command-sponsored events and special meal activities, with other organizations and company functions.

  • Ensure Galley operations adhere to client-directed serving schedules, emphasizing timely and cost-effective delivery.

  • Maintain awareness of and monitor employee compliance with all relevant functional directives, safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.

  • Define training requirements, develop employee skills, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Supervise and provide operational oversight to personnel involved in galley/food service activities, ensuring proper and safe food handling, preparation, serving, inventory management, and replenishment ordering.

  • Manage a galley serving an estimated 14,000 meals per month (with surge capacity for 16,000 meals), providing three meals a day along with a midnight meal (totaling four meals) seven days a week.

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship required.

  • Active US Secret Clearance or ability to obtain.

  • 10+ years' experience in hospitality management or military food service.

  • Demonstrated recent experience in Navy or Marine Galley/Food Service operations.

  • Technical expertise in galley services startup, implementation, and operation.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant Navy safety regulations and food codes to include NAVMED P-5010, NAVSUP P-486 and OPNAVINST 5100.23, & Navy Occupational Safety and Health (NAVOSH)

  • Completion of food service sanitation and safety training.

  • Proficiency in automated food management systems like STORES.

  • Completion of FSM System Operation Training by NAVY FOOD MANAGEMENT TEAM.

  • Serve Safe Certification (40-hour course).

  • Fluency in English.

  • Passport book with at least 12 months validity and 4 blank visa/stamp pages.

  • Driver's license with at least 6 months validity.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an International Driving Permit.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Familiarity with relevant Navy food service manuals and resources, such as NAVSUP P-486, NAVSUP P-7, Armed Forces Recipe Service, NAVSUP P-476, NAVSUP P-580, and culinary preparation texts.

  • Knowledge of health standards like Healthy People 2010 Goals and Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

  • Experience with Go for Green Nutrition Standards
