About This Role

Textron Systems Land Systems is looking for a detail-oriented electrical engineer with 2-6 years’ experience in designing cabling, integrating vehicle electronics, system functional design, and integrating various electrical components and subsystems.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will perform a variety of assignments including conceptual design, engineering analysis, detailed sub-system electrical design, integration, test, and manufacturing and field support. A strong candidate will possess a broad range of engineering skills and could perform as an individual contributor or as a team lead. You will have the opportunity to work in a multi-functional team environment with a diverse array of exciting technologies and products that directly support our nation’s war fighters.

Responsibilities:

  • Support full-life cycle engineering design and development activities on ground vehicle programs.

  • Lead electrical engineering tasks – including (but not limited to) requirements analysis, systems modeling (SYSML), trade studies, requirements derivation, design review support, integration planning, test, verification, risk management, and engineering analysis.

  • Understand customer requirement & specifications and support prototype design.

  • Performing Engineering calculations, writing specifications, and formatting sketches

  • Generating Technical Data Packages (TDP) such as drawings using CAD

  • Prepare and present electrical engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers at program milestone reviews.

  • Hands-on support of testing, troubleshooting and vehicle production build as required.

  • Generate Statements of Work and manage outside contractor performance.

  • Mentor others within the work group, department, and the organization.

  • Generate solid Basis of Estimates and manage Earned Value for design/development cost accounts as Cost Account Manager.

  • Provide technical direction to engineering staff and technicians of all disciplines.

  • Ability to interact daily with program managers, planners, and technicians.

  • Drive tasks to completion independently.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering) required.

  • 2-5 years of experience in an electrical or computer engineering role required.

  • Effective writing and presentation skills.

  • Customer interfacing and ability to build relationships.

  • Ability to work in teams and independently with minimal direction.

  • A good working knowledge of CAD modeling using a major design software package (i.e., AutoCad, SolidWorks)

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio).

  • Experience in ground vehicle design & development preferred, especially with Military Standard components

  • Experience designing cabling for Power, Ethernet, RF, Video, or serial communication.

  • Familiarity with design for manufacturing and design for test is desired.

  • Demonstrated experience developing electrical & power requirements for electrical subsystems is required.

  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting skills are required.

  • Knowledge of basic processes for EMI/EMC mitigation is a plus

  • Position requires up to 10% travel.
