This position reports into Global Head, R&D Technical Delivery and is based in Skillman, NJ and relocating to Summit, NJ in Q1 2025.

Role reports to: Global Head, R&D Technical Delivery

Location: Skillman, NJ and will be relocating to Summit, NJ Q1 2025.

Travel %: 10-20%

Pay: Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $144,000 to $247,250. This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.

What you will do

The R&D Learning & Development Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping our team's growth and success. You'll work closely with senior management to identify and address training needs, approve, and guide the creation or acquisition of innovative training programs, and ensure their effective delivery. Additionally, you will oversee enhancements to our training events, programs, and materials, and carefully review data driven recommendations to continuously improve our training initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in the R&D space and will be responsible for driving strategic learning development, building future capabilities, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. This role requires a visionary leader who can collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, create impactful learning solutions, and measure performance outcomes to ensure the growth and success of our R&D initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Learning Development:

Design and implement comprehensive learning and development programs tailored to the needs of the R&D team.

Ensure alignment of learning initiatives with the company's strategic goals and R&D objectives.

Building Capabilities for the Future:

Identify and develop essential skills and competencies needed for future R&D success.

Create and support talent pipelines to ensure readiness for future challenges and opportunities.

Collaborative Partnerships:

Work closely with R&D leaders, the People function, and other departments to identify learning needs and opportunities.

Establish and maintain strong partnerships with external training providers, academic institutions, and industry experts.

Innovative Learning Solutions:

Develop and implement cutting-edge learning solutions and technologies to enhance the R&D learning experience.

Leverage digital tools and platforms to create engaging and accessible learning content.

Effective Decision Making:

Utilize data driven insights to make informed decisions about learning and development strategies.

Continuously assess the effectiveness of learning programs and make necessary adjustments.

Performance Measurement:

Develop metrics and KPIs to evaluate the impact of learning and development initiatives on R&D performance.

Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on the progress and outcomes of learning programs.

Global Stakeholder Engagement:

Engage with global R&D teams to ensure learning programs are relevant and impactful across different regions.

Adapt learning solutions to meet the diverse needs of a global workforce.

Budget Management:

Manage the learning and development budget effectively, ensuring optimal use of resources.

Identify cost effective solutions and maximize ROI on learning investments.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 10-12 years of related experience in adult learning, instructional design, learning technology enablement, and learning administration

8 years of experience in R&D or building capabilities in R&D

University/Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field

Proven track record of designing and delivering effective training programs

Strong leadership and team management skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve complex problems

Passion for learning and development and staying UpToDate with industry trends.

Proven ability to work with and lead complex, global teams and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

Ability to translate business and technical strategy into innovative and impactful learning and development strategies.

Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively, including the ability to influence without direct authority

Excellent business acumen and ability to develop insights to inform talent solutions
