The Landings Club Assistant Restaurant Manager in Skidaway Island, Georgia

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring that exceptional levels of guest service are given throughout the restaurant while managing profit and loss of their department’s operations on a daily basis.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greets and communicates with all guests in a warm, courteous and prompt manner and ensures all employees act in similar fashion.

  • Ensures prompt and courteous service.

  • Maintains an active floor presence and coordinates activities to provide an efficient and courteous dining environment.

  • Communicates clearly and efficiently to staff and takes action based on observation and information received.

  • Monitors employees to ensure service provided is in accordance with service standards and corrects deficiencies.

  • Maintains health and regulatory standards and procedures and inspects and monitors cleanliness of restaurant.

  • Complies with safety and health code regulations.

  • Recruits, interviews, and hires staff.

  • Administers schedules, employee performance evaluations and coaching and counseling sessions as appropriate.

  • Delegates work and station assignments.

  • Understands financial reports and applies information in a timely and practical fashion.

  • Complies with and reinforces departmental uniform and grooming standards.

  • Completes alcohol awareness and food safety programs successfully within 30 days of hire.

  • Represents the restaurant with the utmost of professionalism.

  • Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by the Club Manager.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

  • Progressive experience within restaurants, hotel/resort environment.

  • Previous experience in recommending, serving and knowledge of fine wines and liquors.

  • Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships.

  • Completes alcohol awareness and food safety programs successfully within 30 days of hire.

  • Valid Drivers license to operate company vehicles.

Critical Skills

  • Understanding of POS systems, payroll systems, and back office computer systems.

  • Ability to read, understand and follow verbal/written instructions.

  • Ability to manage a diverse workload, and prioritize in a fast paced environment.

  • Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks and to deploy resources effectively.

  • Must have the willingness to provide exceptional service to members and desire to provide leadership to position the department to achieve the mission.

  • Ability to understand verbal and written direction in English.

Physical Demands

  • Standing and/or walking 75% of workday.

  • Lifting, carrying and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

  • Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and upward reaching.

  • Working on a computer 25% of workday.
