Summary:
The Bartender is responsible for the vessel's daily beverage sales operation including the effective administration, supervision and execution of programs consistent with the company standards and goals of providing excellent service according to the Core Values ofTrue Alaskan Hospitalitythat drive the guest experience culture, while achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Deliver the highest possible quality of beverage services on board and ensure the implementation and execution of corporate policies and procedures within the Hotel Department.
- Controls, measures and reports bar sales outlet performance daily and takes required corrective action to ensure operations are in accordance with the company standards and objectives.
- Achieves or exceeds bar revenue and cost objectives for the established cruise program targets. Creates new opportunities and maximizes existing ones to generate extra revenue. Manages the beverage outlet as a profit center, assuming responsibility for all revenue and expenses. Ensures that the department's operational budget is strictly adhered to and that all costs are strictly controlled. Recommends measures to control/reduce costs.
- Implements inventory and audit procedures for beverage facilities consistent with operational policies and directives. Along with the Hotel Manager, ensures beverage inventories in stores and bars are at the par level determined by the Company. Ensures that the bar is counted after each cruise and investigate discrepancies.
- Assures beverage facilities are maintained at company standards and meet or exceed Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation regulations. In addition, inspects lounge and bar in respect to physical condition, equipment condition and presentation and ensures prompt repair and maintenance through proper use of job orders.
- Follows prescribed hours set forth by the vessel's daily roster.
- Holds a position on the Vessel's Emergency Station Bill.
- Maintain awareness of basic safety rules, workplace safety and respect for the environment.
- Commit to understanding terrain and vessel itinerary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be minimum 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- TAP (Training for Alcohol Professionals) and Alaska Food Worker Card issued by DEC.
- Must pass a security background check and DOT drug test.
- 2-4 years of experience in the culinary or restaurant industry with proven knowledge of and experience in bar duties obtained within the last 2 years.
- Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Communication skill require the ability to represent the company in public appearances.
- Ability to train and supervise others and be able to review their work.
