Nexstar Media Group Producer I, Associate in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

This position reports to the Executive Producer (EP). This position involves executing the day-to-day activities of a local television show and accompanying digital components. This show will include both paid and non-paid segments.

  • Developing and revising show rundowns at the direction of the EP.

  • Writing script for daily show in coordination with show hosts and EP.

  • Editing show segments as assigned by executive producer.

  • Assisting EP in creating daily show graphics.

  • Assisting EP & Show Hosts with scheduling in studio interviews as assigned.

  • Developing segment ideas based on viewer interest and sales input.

  • Assisting EP with daily show content development.

  • Assisting and coaching in studio guests and clients on remote shoots.

  • Finding props, decorating the set and assisting show hosts as directed by the EP.

  • Serving as EP in her/his absence.

As Needed:

  • Shooting both in studio and at remote locations.

  • Lighting subjects and products at both indoor and outdoor locations.

  • Editing segments for daily shows as directed by EP.

  • Creating graphics for show segments.

  • Meeting daily deadlines for show segments.

  • Formatting and exporting video for online distribution.

  • Coaching show hosts and clients on shoots.

  • Other duties as assigned by the EP or Director of Marketing & Creative Services.

  • Assisting on remote shoots as needed.

  • Post segment to KELOLAND Living social media accounts as assigned.

Qualifications

College degree in communications, journalism or related field preferred. Experience in writing and producing television programs or long form videos required. Experience with ENPS, video editing software, videography, social media marketing preferred.
