Our client, a leader in the food processing industry, is seeking an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to join their team. As an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician, you will be part of the maintenance department supporting the operational efficiency of the facility. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Ammonia Refrigeration Technician

Location: Sioux Falls, SD

Pay Range: $35 per hour

What's the Job?

• Manage and troubleshoot preventive maintenance of refrigeration systems and components.

• Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components using various testing equipment.

• Keep the Process Safety Management (PSM) program updated and execute it under plant engineer guidance.

• Inspect plant and machinery to ensure optimum performance and direct maintenance activities.

• Assist in developing risk mitigation and accident prevention programs to enhance workplace safety.

What's Needed?

• Associate's degree or vocational school degree in a maintenance technician program.

• Minimum of three years of experience with ammonia refrigeration systems.

• 5-7 years of experience in the maintenance field, preferably in the USDA cheese/dairy industry.

• Current R.E.T.A. or Refrigeration certification, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical instructions.
