SHORT STAFFED Home Health Aide (HHA) in Sioux City, Iowa

Overview:We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Home Health Aide (HHA) to join our team at Short Staffed, Inc. Medical and Professional. As a Home Health Aide, you will provide essential support to individuals who are elderly, disabled, or recovering from an illness, enabling them to live independently and comfortably in their own homes. This role involves assisting with daily activities, personal care, and ensuring clients' safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Mobility Support: Help clients with walking, transfers, and positioning to prevent falls or injuries.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals according to client dietary needs and preferences, and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Companionship and Emotional Support: Provide companionship and engage clients in conversations or recreational activities to promote emotional well-being.
- Medication Assistance: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and ensure they are following their medication schedule as directed.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform basic household chores such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing to maintain a safe and clean living environment.
- Monitor Health and Report Changes: Observe and report any significant changes in the client's condition, physical health, or behavior to the supervising nurse or family members.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of care provided, including daily notes on the client's activities and health status.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience as a Home Health Aide or in a caregiving role is preferred, but not required. We do train in office for this position if no experience!
- Skills: Ability to assist with daily living activities and provide compassionate care. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and Responsible: Dependable, punctual, and able to follow care plans and instructions accurately.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a background check
- Valid driver's license or reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently while also being part of a team.
- CPR and BLS Certification (We do offer classes through Short Staffed to obtain this)
