Avera Marshall Financial Counselor in Sioux Center, Iowa
The Financial Counselor is responsible for making financial arrangements for patients with or without insurance or with inadequate insurance coverage and collects required deposits from patients and guardians prior to service when applicable. They assist patients in obtaining financing for services and have basic understanding of government programs and screens and refer patients when applicable. They provide charity applications as requested or deemed appropriate for the patient and are responsible for ensuring insurance eligibility, benefit verification and patient estimates. They understand and interpret patient liability and benefits for all payer types including copays, co-insurance, and out-of-pocket responsibilities in order to provide patients and families with information on their financial responsibility.
