Team & Job Overview

As EDC aims to be the leader in helping all Canadian exporters go, grow, and succeed internationally, the Indo-Pacific team strives to maximize the performance of our business teams by arming them with the skills, insights, and tools they need to succeed. The EDC Singapore branch team is seeking an individual contributor to enhance the breadth of its corporate data assets to allow the corporation to make faster, smarter, and more well-informed decisions in the Indo-Pacific region. The role will be supported through close collaboration with the head office Enterprise Analytics and Forecasting group in Ottawa,

As a Lead Data Analyst, you will be responsible for providing in-depth reporting and analysis on business results that help to drive informed decision making in the Indo-Pacific region. Based out of EDC’s Singapore branch office, the candidate will have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and translate business data into digestible information that provides insights and improves corporate processes. A strong communicator, they will not only have a natural curiosity to understand why things are happening but the ability to explain that to different audiences. The successful candidate should possess deep analytical skills, a results focused approach, while striving for quality improvement to impact business results and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop analytics, forecasting, and actionable data insights on corporate data.

  • Understands EDC’s business and strategy in the Indo-Pacific region and is able to leverage the right data elements to drive results.

  • Assists with the development of budget forecasting and tracking tools for the Indo-Pacific region.

  • Tracks and analyzes financial performance, budgets and expenses for the Indo-Pacific region. Explains complex data to audiences with varying data literacy.

  • Perform all aspects of the data lifecycle including consulting with business users to ensure articulation of business requirements, translating the requirements into viable solutions, testing of the developed solution and deployment to the necessary environments.

  • Determines the best source of information to suit the users’ needs and develops queries and reports.

  • Ensures the functionality, security, availability, and accuracy of the information provided to end users of data.

  • Work across functions to develop relevant metrics and reporting to support decision making processes.

  • Provides analysis of query/report output for stakeholders and/or conducts statistical analyses, interprets results, and writes reports to explain findings.

  • Identifies data integrity issues and determine feasible solutions and maintains documentation, templates, procedures, processes, building codes, and standards relating to data.

Screening Criteria

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related discipline

  • Advanced knowledge of business intelligence and reporting principles and practices.

  • Advanced data analysis skills.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience using Power BI.

  • Knowledge of Data Transformation tools.

  • Minimum 6 years of experience developing Business Intelligence, Reporting and Analytics solutions.

Assets

  • Experience producing Wireframe designs for Dashboards.

  • Experience with Data virtualization software, such as Denodo.

  • Experience writing SQL queries (Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle).

  • Experience using R and/or Python for analytics.

  • Experience using other Business Intelligence tools (Cognos Analytics, Tableau or Qlik).

  • Experience with Data Transformation tools such as Databricks, DataStage, or Azure Data Factory.

Salary range

  • Level 3: $81,016 (SGP$6,751 per month) - $121,368 (SGP$10,114 per month) performance-based incentive.

  • Level 4: $97,240 (SGP$8,103 per month) - $145,808 (SGP$12,150 per month) performance-based incentive.

Location

  • Please be advised that this position is based at our Singapore branch office located at the Marina Bay Financial Centre, Singapore.
