Caterpillar Financial Services currently has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join the team.

Job Summary

Provides timely and accurate financial record keeping and reporting as directed by management with limited supervision.

What You Have

  • Maintaining financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards.

  • Creating reports on financial performance for internal and external use.

  • Performing balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.

  • Creating and utilizing automated tools for the updating, analyzing and reporting of consolidated financial results.

Degree Requirement

  • ​Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or successful completion of the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam or the international equivalent.

  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and FASB regulations and procedures as they related to the particular area of accounting.

  • Knowledge of and ability to use the software packages utilized by Accounting.

• Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work.

Accounting : Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.

• Works with financial transactions and related documentation within the organization.

• Participates in accounting practices of classifying and recording financial data.

• Maintains existing charts of accounts.

• Follows regulations for entering and reporting the financial content in major accounting systems.

Financial Analysis : Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

• Describes the concepts behind financial analysis and implications of financial data.

• Explains how financial statements are organized and the type of information they provide.

• Identifies major types of financial statements issued by the organization.

Financial Record Keeping : Knowledge of financial record keeping processes, methods, and tools; ability to maintain accurate and thorough records of financial transactions.

• Implements organizational standards for financial record keeping.

• Analyzes and documents errors or inaccuracies in financial records.

• Supplies financial data that is used in reports.

Financial Reporting : Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

• Follows organizational practices and guidelines for product profitability reporting.

• Analyzes errors or inaccuracies in financial reports.

• Monitors compliance with organizational standards for financial report writing.

• Implements organizational methods and procedures for financial report writing.
