Amazon Program Manager - Procurement, Risk & Assurance, Data Center Procurement Governance (DCPG) in Singapore, Singapore

As Program Manager - Procurement and Risk, Data Center Procurement Governance (DCPG), you will play a key role in shaping and executing a range of compliance, risk, governance and improvements programs to support our high growth procurement functions in our Data Center business.

Your role:

-Lead projects and initiatives that seek to reduce procurement and business risks across a large, global portfolio of infrastructure deployments at AWS;

-Drive and execute a range of cross-organizational projects focused on remediating identified business risks, policy and process improvements in procurement;

-Ensure procurement policies, practices and supplier performance management is compliant with SOC controls and other AWS assurance programs;

-Support other ad-hoc improvement and governance projects as necessary in any one of the other verticals in DCPG - Amazon Customer Excellence Systems (ACES), Supplier Relationship Management / Supplier Risk Management (SRM), Procurement Systems & Tools & Data Solutions;

-Be part of a leadership that has influence and ability to shape the strategy and execution of team functions, be an active coach/ mentor to team members;

-Be a strong advocate of the DCPG team within AWS to ensure the team is driving enterprise value and impact.

The ideal candidate for this role has a proven track record in delivering global programs in a central governance function of a large-scale procurement department with a process improvement, policy, risk/ compliance focus. Procurement practitioner experience and digital skills would be highly valued.

The candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement processes, and effectively partner with stakeholders, influence and manage cross-functional teams in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment. Attention to detail, being data-driven to uncover insights and recommendations, and demonstrates strong delivery of multiple high priority projects simultaneously, doing this with the ability to drive alignment across teams with competing priorities, and be a strong advocate for governance and risk management.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead various audit programs, risk remediation, policy and process improvement projects internally and with external stakeholders

• Take lead in establishing necessary controls, mechanisms, and policies to improve DCSP compliance and assurance

• Drive culture of innovation, simplification and continuous improvement through best practice sharing, advocacy and hands-on leadership and execution of projects

• Identify new tools and business processes that simplify, standardize and enable operational excellence

• Derive actionable insights and routinely present recommendations from analysis

A day in the life

-This role has a global scope so there is no standard day - there is much variety in the day

-You could be starting with a morning meeting speaking with US team members, a coffee with APAC and finish up with a call with EMEA

-You will work on multiple projects across multiple teams, stakeholders and customers

-Your biggest customers will be our Data Center Services Procurement teams and our AWS security assurance teams. Stakeholders also include legal, finance, H&S and other Data Center Communities colleagues

-You will be seen as the domain expert in procurement compliance, policies and processes

About the team

Data Center Procurement Governance (DCPG) is a global function that comprises of 5 main global programs:

Procurement Systems, Tools & Data Solutions: Responsible for defining and driving procurement’s IT infrastructure and roadmap. They advise on all future uses of IT into our procurement specific processes. The team manages and owns the procurement platform for supplier onboarding and RFX. The team manages projects to drive process improvements and efficiencies through automation, data dashboarding and visualisation, and systems integration.

Amazon Customer Excellence System (ACES): ACES define a culture of continuous improvement across the procurement function. They continuously look to identify and remediate defects within the procurement life cycle. They focus on global standardization vs. localization, automation and project management. The team also have a PMO and change management function.

Procurement Risk & Compliance Program: Responsible for increasing compliance with and adherence to the functions’ processes and policies, to mitigate business risks and to reduce process waste.

Supplier Risk Program: Manage and iterate on our third-party supplier risk program to enable the identification, qualification, mitigation and monitoring of risks across the AWS datacenter construction supply chain.

Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Program: The program provides stakeholders and Procurement Managers a platform to measure, benchmark and develop supplier performance based on a global standard across all categories. At the same time the program ensures AWS meets their regulatory obligations under SOC2.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of program or project management experience

  • 6+ years of defining and executing against program timeline & requirements experience

  • 6+ years of regulatory and risk management experience

  • 6+ years of purchasing experience

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • 5+ years of managing stakeholders in cross-functional project experience

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment

  • Experience working in a matrixed organization
