Amazon Customs Brokerage Operations Manager, AWS Cloud Logistics in Singapore, Singapore

Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

At AWS Cloud Logistics (ACL), we work together to #MoveTheCloud. Our team designs and delivers the technology that our logistics teams rely on every day. We’re innovators, communicators, and problem-solvers who lead, advocate, and influence.

Role Overview:

As the Broker Operations Manager, you will be accountable for ongoing broker operations management and strategically developing the next generation of customs operations and expansion initiatives for AWS. You will manage critical vendor relationships to ensure successful hardware fulfillment to AWS data centers across the APAC region. To achieve ambitious goals, you must uphold the highest standards, continuously develop and refine processes, and drive improvement activities across internal and external teams. You will possess the ability to execute strategies and projects in APAC, including implementing systems and leveraging cutting-edge technologies to optimize and enhance processes.

You will accelerate progress by making decisive and timely decisions, resolving blockers effectively, and escalating issues appropriately when necessary. Your role requires collaborating and fostering an inclusive culture while working with diverse teams across the organization. Strong project management, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills are essential for success in this role. Additionally, you must demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement, problem-solving, and a deep understanding of customs operations and trade compliance in the APAC region.

Key job responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day broker operations, including managing brokers, clearance processes, trade planning, and execution across existing and new AWS sites/programs.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and rectify gaps in export/import processes, ensuring smooth operations and mitigating bottlenecks.

• Build strong relationships and partnerships with internal teams (customers, partners, operations, engineers) to meet project deliverables seamlessly.

• Coordinate global customs broker management, conducting country assessments, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.

• Analyze import/export data to identify process improvement opportunities and enhance broker operations through initiatives.

• Drive automation by leveraging technologies and applying customs expertise to optimize operational efficiencies.

• Prepare and present detailed, data-driven business reviews to senior management, focusing on service level improvements and impact analysis.

• Effectively communicate expectations, requirements, and well-reasoned proposals verbally and in writing to business and technology teams.

• Demonstrate strong presentation abilities and articulate data-driven proposals convincingly.
