Citigroup Custody Product Manager Settlements in Singapore, Singapore

Securities Services provides clearing, settlement, safekeeping, cash, tax & asset servicing to global financial institutions through a proprietary branch network spanning across Asia, EMEA and the Americas.

Securities Services is seeking a product manager to focus on securities settlements, understand, communicate and implement global product strategies in line with business, regulatory and market requirements. Develop new products and enhance existing clearing, and settlement products for the Custody business.

The Securities Services Product Manager will be responsible for executing and managing clearing and settlement initiatives for the Securities Services Custody Product Management business, focused on the NAM region. Included in the scope of responsibilities are:

  • Agree product development priorities with business owners

  • Develop new Custody settlement products and enhance existing

  • Work with internal partners (risk, legal, compliance) to ensure product risks are understood, documented and mitigated

  • Maintain a close relationship with operations to re-engineer existing products in order to maximise efficiency and improve client experience

Responsibilities:

  • Understand, communicate and implement global product strategies in line with business, regulatory and market requirements.

  • Develop new products and enhance existing clearing and settlements products for the Custody business.

  • Drive the standardisation of products across markets and regions.

  • Work with the Cluster heads to prioritise, develop and implement products in line with business drivers.

  • Work alongside different teams within the business to understand new market developments and how these fit in with the product strategy and client requirements.

  • Work closely with operations and technology to create detailed Business Requirements Documentation defining core product functionality based on client demand, market/regulatory requirement and long-term strategic objectives.

  • Work with internal partners (in business risk, legal, compliance) to ensure product risks are understood, documented and mitigated and that new product developments meet internal business approval requirements.

  • Act as a senior point of escalation for the branches for all product related issues

  • Maintain a close relationship with operations to re-engineer existing products in order to maximise efficiency and improve client experience.

  • Support the data quality and governance as product owner for clearing and settlements along with operations and technology peers. Address any data inconsistencies identified.

  • Be the agent of transformation of existing structure into a more productive, efficiently controlled, more digitalized / less human dependent and metrically managed one.

  • Contribute to Move to Common initiatives, aim for platforms and processes simplifications.

  • Actively participate in Industry forums to ensure that Citi is kept abreast of market changes and that Citi’s views are represented.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience

  • Strong securities background, Good inter-personal and communications skills

  • Background in operational processes, technology platforms and front office activities

  • Background in regulatory / market mandatory changes and related enhancements

  • Client facing experience beneficial

  • Background in monitoring and reviewing business linked technology budgets / prioritization.

  • Ability to analyse different processes and identify inherent risks

  • Good inter-personal and communications skills

  • Team player

  • Creative and resourceful problem solving

  • Proven project management and implementation skills

  • Strong analytical capabilities

  • Ability to interact with various levels of management

Education:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Business, Finance or other related fields
