About ACIA Aon’s Centers for Innovation and Analytics in Dublin and Singapore are the cornerstone of Aon’s $350M global investment in analytics. The ACIAs deliver data-driven insights to clients by leveraging our unmatched data capabilities across both risk and people solutions. Established in 2012, there are over 150 colleagues employed by ACIA Singapore today, with rapid growth planned over the next few years. The team currently includes actuaries, computer programmers, data scientists, financial analysts and accountants. Through their concerted effort the ACIAs build best in class analytic insights and capabilities to better serve clients and colleagues globally.

What the day will look like

  • Collect relevant data from various sources

  • Cleanse and preprocess data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and suitability for analysis

  • Investigate and resolve data-related issues

  • Collaborate with senior team members to understand requirements

  • Run models using the prepared datasets and designed technical workflow

  • Supervise the workflow outputs, ensuring accurate and timely results

  • Fix and resolve any technical issues or errors encountered

  • Consolidate and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies

  • Work closely with the data scientists and data engineers

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the programs

  • Support any other ad-hoc request related to projects assigned

    How this opportunity is different

    The successful candidate will join the Growth Analytics team based in Singapore, a dynamic and high-energy team, delivering data-driven insights to our leaders to drive performance and support strategic decision making.

    The Data Analyst will collaborate with Data Scientist and Data Engineer to perform data collection, cleansing, and preparation activities, run in-house prediction workflow and collaborate with multi-functional teams.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Studies in computer science, statistics, mathematics, economics, or a related field.

  • Foundational knowledge in data analysis, statistics and related areas

  • Ability to write SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation and analysis

  • Experience with a programming language (e.g. Python or R)

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Collaborative, team player, organized, goal-oriented, committed and able to tackle problems

  • Effective reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills

    Good to Have

  • Proficient in working with MSSQL databases

  • Experience in developing analytical notebooks using Python, R and/or SQL

  • Understanding of machine learning techniques and their use cases

  • Basic knowledge of PowerBI
