The Manager R&D for Transformers has the key responsibility in the EMEA region to grow the Transformer business and outperform our markets by ensuring competitive and compliant designs tht meet highest Industry and Eaton standards. He understands the competitive landscape, builds a vision from R&D perspectives and builds strong relations within and outside Eaton. Together with Regional an Global Product Line he defines a mutliyear Roadmap for Transformer design which puts Eaton in front of competion, and which enables outgrowth of the markets. He inspires his teams, as well as stakeholders within the business, GPL, other functions and in the markets.Lead, manage, inspire and motivate assigned team of R&D Professionals, according to Eaton Leadership Model requirements and in line with the applicable HR policy. Own the Design Integrity of Eaton's Transformer designs in EMEA.

What you’ll do:

  • Builds a vision for ESS EMEA Transformer business

  • Sets targets for competitive, and leading transformer designs

  • Ensures compliance of transformers with applicable standards like IEC60076

  • Manage New Product Development, utilizing PROLaunch Product Development Process

  • Ensure design quality by conducting Design Reviews, and applying Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools

  • Execute VAVE projects to ensure cost competiveness, Innovation, Type Testing and Homologation for End-Markets.

  • Participates in problem solving of complex technical issues

  • Collaborate within Eaton's ESS BU, Eaton Engineering Function including Pune, and with Transformer Businesses in US and APAC

  • Drive Accountability and efficiency within the department and a ‘one team culture’ to deliver the required output.

  • Define the continuous improvement in Design Processes

Qualifications:

  • MSc or BSc Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 10 years of work experience in Transformer Engineering

Skills:

  • Knowledge of Transformer Engineering, Calculation and Manufacturing Methods, Tools and Systems

  • Knowledge of IEC and other international standards

  • Procedures, company rules, guidelines (national and international), law, rules & regulations, standards, safety, quality and environmental guidelines as far as applicable"

  • Is highly regarded as someone to look to for direction in a crisis.

  • Is highly competent in facing adversity and tough challenges head on.

  • Has a strong ability to positively influence those who need help and further development.
