What you’ll do:

CI OPEX Engineer will be responsible for leading deployment of the continuous improvement tools and processes of the Eaton Business System (EBS), including Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF), Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS), Operational Assessment (OpA), Cost Out Structure for to reach cost saving target in support of strategic goals and objectives.

  • Building ELSS organizational capability and develop local ELSS/CI Tool Champions by providing training and consulting support.

  • Utilizing Eaton Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) deployment (visual controls, process standardization, leader standard work, Gemba walks, manning strategy, daily accountability, process checks and CI for everyone)

  • Developing local ELSS/CI Tool Champions and Experts by providing training and consulting support

  • Being responsible for attainment of ELSS Assessment and ELSS Cost Savings objectives

  • Directing problem-solving activities and coordinating corrective action plans for production problems.

  • Planning Business Process Improvement (BPI), Integrated Deck Building (IDB), Rapid Improvement Events (RIE),

  • Supporting annual self-assessments are completed at each plant to include but not limited to ELSS, OpA, as well as formal assessments when required.

  • Coordinating the VSMs between the plants to identify best strategies to reduce the non-value-added activities between the plants

  • Analyzing reports related to operational and ELSS functional requirements.

  • Supporting the achievement of Plant Cost Out goals as established by Profit Plan.

  • Utilizing change management techniques such as ADKAR to effectively drive and sustain process improvements

  • Participating in the process of obtaining certification and recertification of ISO 9001, ISO 14000, etc.

  • Monitoring performance and CI plans for each plant, participate in regular reviews and recommend opportunities for improvement as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Having a degree of BSC, MSC, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering or Electrical Engineering

  • Having experience 3-5 years

  • Having minimum two (2) years of experience in a Manufacturing Environment and Lean, Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques – i.e. value stream mapping, one piece flow, etc.

  • Understanding of problem-solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e. thought maps, 8D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Gage R & R, control charts, Pareto charts, etc.

  • Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality processes (i.e., ISO9001 etc).

  • Proficiency in MiniTab; knowledge of Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and tools as they relate to minimizing process / product variability – i.e. regression analysis, hypothesis testing, ELSS, CIF

  • Excellent command of English both spoken and written is a MUST
