Tackett Total is looking for a motivated Automotive Technician. Duties of the Automotive Technician is to perform repairs to manufacturer and customer specifications, perform basic vehicle care and maintenance, including changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires and be able to inspect vehicles for damage and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made.The ideal candidate should have at least 3 to 5 years of automotive and engine repair experience.Responsibilities:Identify problems, often by using computerized diagnostic equipmentPlan work procedures, using charts, technical manuals, and experienceTest parts and systems to ensure that they work properlyFollow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examinedPerform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tiresRepair or replace worn parts, such as brake pads, wheel bearings, and sensorsPerform repairs to manufacturer and customer specificationsInspect vehicles for damage and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made.Requirements:Automotive and engine repair experience or auto mechanic training required.Hold a valid driver license.Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer service.Must read, interpret and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records.Perform routine maintenance and other tasks in a fast-paced environment.May lift objects that weigh as much as 50 lbs.High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience as a lube technician, or prepared to do on-the-job training.Ability to use the diagnostic equipment.Good hand-eye coordination.Preferred: (But Not Required)ASE certifications preferredGraduated from an associate degree program in auto maintenance and repair.Understanding of automotive air-conditioning systems.Experience with heavy equipment and as a diesel mechanic, diesel engine knowledge, or prepared to do on-the-job training.Job Type: Full-timePay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour (depending on experience and ASE certification status)Expected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:Employee discountLife insurancePaid time offBonusesSchedule:Day shift (8:00am to 5:00pm)Monday to FridayOvertimeWeekends as needed
