  • Location: Holy Cross Health has two hospitals and four healthcare centers all a short driving distance from Washington DC and Baltimore, MD

Description:

  • Full-Time 7am – 7pm

  • Reporting to the Director of Dialysis

  • Dialysis Nurse (RN) provides dialytic therapy to patients with acute renal failure or end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support outpatient hemodialysis on-site.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with patients that have: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), Traumatic Injury to the Kidney to Chronic Heart Disease

  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team of nephrologists, dietitian and social workers to support patients

  • Educating patients about their disease, their diet and their medications

  • Complete pre and post treatment physical assessments, documenting as required.

  • Monitor patients’ lab results and adjust dialysis medications as needed per physician order

  • Participate as a member of the Interdisciplinary team in all required patient assessment and care planning activities.

What you will need:

  • One or more years of current dialysis experience required

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program ADN; basic professional nursing degree (BSN or MSN) preferred.

  • Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.

  • BLS certification; additional Life Support training as applicable to unit requirements.

Preferred:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (BSN or MSN) preferred. Note, if the basic professional degree is not present on hire, the employee must engage in a basic professional nursing degree program within twelve (12) months of hire
