Who we’re looking for:

Wolfspeed’s Materials Business is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Supervisor to join our Wafer Operations Equipment team at the world’s largest silicon carbide manufacturing complex in Siler City, North Carolina. 

In this role, you will lead and support the maintenance team with direction, resources, and motivation to achieve or exceed all planned goals.   Also, you will be responsible and accountable for safe and productive execution of the maintenance daily plan.  You will further be expected to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment within the facility and work to develop the team.  This role will interact directly with Equipment and Process Engineers and other groups to meet Wolfspeed’s goals.    

Supervisors will support a 12-hour manufacturing day or night shift on a Front End or Back End shift pattern. 

• Front End Days (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, every other Wednesday)
• Back End Days (Every other Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday)

• Front End Nights (Every other Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday)
• Back End Nights (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, every other Saturday)

  
This posting is for a position that will directly support operations at the John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide, our expansion site in Siler City, NC. The person in this role will train at our Durham, NC headquarters initially and will move over to the new site once ready.

The Day-to-Day:

• Responsible for daily activities of the maintenance team.
• Promote safety culture and adhere to Wolfspeed’s safety policies and procedures in all aspects of the role.
• Provide leadership, direction, technical knowledge, and best practices to the maintenance team.
• Responsible for team management, including regular scheduled 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development plans.
• Work with training team to create, execute, and keep training plans up-to-date for the maintenance team.
• Ensure all maintenance procedures and documentation are being followed; and recommend / make updates to documents for better accuracy.
• Communicate maintenance plans and issues clearly up and down the management organization.
• Develop first round of escalation plans for the equipment; work with equipment engineers for further plans as needed.
• Partner with equipment engineers to institute plans to maximize equipment availability, utilization and efficiency performance.
• Work with equipment engineers to establish root cause and implement corrective and preventative actions for recurring equipment maintenance issues.
• Recommend and participate in continuous improvement activities for equipment.
• Coordinate spare part delivery and escalations as necessary with logistics.
• Determine and manage spare parts budget and inventories.
   

This Job is Right for You if You Have:

• Associate’s degree in an engineering or technical field

5+ years of maintenance supervision or 8+ years of previous maintenance technician experience

• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a high-performing team
• Demonstrated high performance with the ability to lead under pressure with changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical field
• Prior semiconductor equipment maintenance or equipment supervisory experience
