The TownePlace Suites/Fairfield Inn by Marriott, Sikeston, MO is a new dual-brand franchised hotel, scheduled for opening in late fall 2024 and is managed by First Call Hospitality. The Position: We’re looking for an Opening General Manager for our hotels. The hotels are scheduled to open in November 2024. This opportunity combines working for this suburban business with the benefit of working for a smaller management company with all its support and assistance to managing the hotels. The pay range we’re offering is competitive and commensurate with experience.

The Responsibilities : As the top spot to the property leadership team, the General Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the hotels. They will report directly to a Director of Operations and be responsible to achieve the budgeted goals of the property but do so with the highest amount of integrity and sound leadership.

The Location: This dual property TownePlace/Fairfield Inn by Marriott is located in Sikeston, MO which is located halfway between St. Louis and Memphis in the Missouri Bootheel, bordering Kentucky and Arkansas and four hours from Nashville. It is a large enough community to offer great activities and restaurants, etc., but small enough where you can make friends and feel at home.

The Requirements:

Minimum of two years experience as a hotel General Manager or Assistant General Manager with the strong ability to:

Communicate effectively in all situations.

Marriott brand experience a plus, but not a requirement.

Develop and monitor all revenue and sales opportunities.

Monitor costs and adjust according to market conditions.

Manage, train and motivate a diverse team.

Strong financial acumen to manage budgets, revenue, and expenses.

Ability to work in a fast pace, high-energy and demanding work environment.

Flexible in work hours/days.

Interview, hire, train, supervise and counsel department managers in the efficient operation of their respective area(s). Meet with, develop and delegate improvement plans for operation and review performance of management team.

Recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication.

Participate in community affairs and maintain positive public image for Crescent and hotel. Meet with potential and current clients and promote hotel.

Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff.

Physically tour and visually inspect property on a daily basis. Monitor cost control, property condition, cleanliness and quality of product and service throughout hotel. Greet and maintain rapport with associates and customers.

Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Accurately forecast revenue/cost problems and manages the timing of discretionary expenditures to utilize cash flow.

Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of our guests and team.

Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.

Make judgments and implement changes to maximize profits. Supervise development of and revision to business plan, annual budget and annual and monthly forecasts, etc. Formulate complex reports. Communicate with the public, staff, corporate office and owners.

Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000 per year.
