The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking anInspection Supervisorto work out of its state-of-the-art facility inSidney, NY.

The key responsibilities of theInspection Supervisorinclude, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise and organize the workload for final, Gage Lab, QC gates and incoming inspection hourly employees and provide customer support for customer current issues

  • Assigns workloads to hourly inspectors

  • Schedule overtime as required by workload

  • Maintain employee timekeeping

  • Schedule employee vacations based on typical workload

  • Learn all aspects of inspection work; supervisor should understand how test equipment works and what drives the inspection requirements

  • Validate inspector rejections

  • Prioritize customer source product inspection as required

  • Interfaces with customer source inspector onsite providing assistance and support

  • Become delegated source inspector for customers that need coverage

  • Helps inspectors with the interpretation of drawings and routines

  • Oversees the inspector training as required by the quality manual

  • Abides by the collective bargaining unit rules and all safety rules and regulations

  • Acts as the primary interface for Customer Service received phone and email issues and questions

  • Coordinates action items with Quality Engineers, Process Engineer’s, manufacturing, and all other required resources to satisfy customer needs

  • Leads investigative teams and efforts as required to satisfy timelines and customer needs

  • Utilizes problem solving techniques and tools during investigations to assure full and final resolution of issue

  • Maintains constant interface with customer until issue is resolved to customer approval

  • Creates and updates inspection routines to meet customer requirements

  • Working knowledge of the Quality Manual, military specifications, ITAR, and the quality system

Salary: $58,000 - $70,000

  • 30 Minute Drive from Binghamton, NY

  • 20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NY

The Person -

The key skills and qualities of anInspection Supervisorat Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Two-year degree or equivalent work experience preferred as a minimum

  • Familiarity with inspection tools

  • Ability to work in a production environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and phone etiquette

  • Ability to create and document inspection routines in a clear, concise, and logical format for employees to follow

  • Capable of working with and motivating employees to achieve company goals

  • Frequent sitting, lifting (11-20 lbs.), walking, standing and computer use

  • Occasional reading, twisting, bending, climbing, kneeling, squatting
