This position may be covered by a Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association (VEBA) *JOB DUTIES: As a Workforce Consultant, you will: * Effectively engage those we serve to ensure their needs are fully understood, ensuring timely access to all relevant services and resources. * Provide outcome-based, client specific services to socio-economically diverse populations and cultures, with skill levels ranging from seasoned professionals to those new to the workforce. * Establish and maintain productive, professional relationships with those we serve, and serve with. * Build and maintain relationships with businesses, education, economic development and other community partners. * Inform and coach both individuals and groups in support of established goals and expectations. * Inspect facilities for compliance related to worker housing. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES: If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the following knowledge, skills or abilities: * Knowledge of and interest in the communities served and area social services. * Basic knowledge of and interest in workforce development and the area economy. * Ability to balance empathy with motivation when coaching clients to achieve their individual goals. * Ability to seek out and retain information and apply concepts and processes effectively. * Ability to problem solve and arrive at creative solutions to challenges with limited supervision. * Skill in identifying what needs to be done, developing a plan, and executing the same. * Skill in using modern computer equipment and common business software as well as the ability to adapt to work specific applications and related updates. * Skill in gathering information and conveying information accurately and effectively both orally and in writing. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Your preparation for this opportunity could include a combination of relevant experiences including: * A degree in a field such as human services, social work, education, health services, marketing, business, and 1 year of related experience. OR * 5 years of relevant experience that has preparing you for this opportunity. OR * Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
