Description

Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager with strong expertise in manufacturing and cost accounting to join our team in Shrewsbury, MA. The ideal candidate will oversee financial operations, ensure accuracy in cost reporting, manage budgets, and leverage tools like NetSuite and Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis. This on-site position is a critical role in driving financial efficiency and compliance for our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounting functions, ensuring compliance with company policies, GAAP, and other relevant regulations.

  • Manage and analyze manufacturing costs, including inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance reporting.

  • Develop and implement cost accounting systems and processes to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of product costs.

  • Utilize NetSuite to maintain the general ledger, prepare financial statements, and generate performance reports.

  • Prepare, analyze, and present financial data related to manufacturing operations, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Perform reconciliations of cost accounts and follow up on discrepancies.

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes specific to manufacturing operations.

  • Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and other departments to provide financial insights and drive cost control initiatives.

  • Create and maintain advanced Excel spreadsheets for financial modeling, analysis, and data visualization.

  • Manage a small team of accountants, providing mentorship, training, and performance feedback.

  • Conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes and financial controls to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.

  • 5+ years of accounting experience with a focus on manufacturing and cost accounting.

  • Proficiency in NetSuite and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of inventory management, standard costing, and variance analysis in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proven ability to manage teams, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with various departments.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
