The Shorelands & Environmental Assistance{rel="nofollow"} (SEA) within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a Regional Shoreline Planner (Environmental Planner 2 or 3) position. This position is located in our Northwest Region Office (NWRO) *in *Shoreline, WA{rel="nofollow"}. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

Please Note: This position is located in our Northwest Region Office (NWRO) in Shoreline, WA{target="_blank" rel="noopener"}. the above pay includes an additional 5% pay increase due to the positions location in King County. *Please Note: This is an In-Training position. *The goal class for this position is a Environmental Planner 3 (EP3). We will consider applicants who meet the requirements for the Environmental Planner 2 (EP2) and EP3 levels. If the finalist meets the requirements for the EP2 level, then they will be placed into a training program to become an EP3 within a specified period of time.   

As the Regional Shoreline Planner, you will serve as an associate-level planner, providing planning, technical, and regulatory support to local governments in an assigned geographic area in the development and administration of Shoreline Master Programs under the Shoreline Management Act. You will also review the assigned jurisdiction's shoreline permits, support administration of Shoreline Master Program and Coastal Zone Management grants, conduct training, and support Shoreline Management Act compliance.   The Northwest Regional Office (NWRO), Shorelands and Environment Assistance Program is located in Shoreline, Washington and offers flexible work schedules and a dynamic, collaborative group of employees committed to protecting Washington's shorelands, wetlands and floodplains.
