Gas Field Specialists Heavy Diesel Mechanic in Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania

POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnosis, repairs, reconditioning and overhaul of heavy diesel equipment. Heavy equipment may include, but is not limited to, heavy trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, and/or excavators. FLSA Status:    Non-Exempt Employment Type:    Full Time           PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITY •    Performs general and detailed repair of all heavy equipment, engines and components. •    Diagnoses and troubleshoots machine and engine malfunctions and failures. •    Runs diagnostics using computer. •    Keeps knowledge up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems. •    Uses safe working practices and follows all company safety requirements. •    Performs maintenance activities on new and rebuilt/repaired equipment. •    Makes recommendations as to repairs meeting warranty criteria. •    Make parts replacement decisions assuring optimum economic re-usability. •    Maintains a clean and organized work area. •    Respects coworkers.  •    Performs duties as assigned. Repetitive and continuous duties    Yes Performing under stress    Yes Set limits, tolerance or standards    Yes Problem solving    Yes Comparing    Yes Following instructions    Yes SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL / VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS •    High School Diploma or GED with graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or earth-moving repair preferred. •    Two years experience in heavy equipment, engine or electric power generation system repair including diesel mechanic experience. LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION •    Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). •    PA Inspection License S1 or S7. •    GFS Heavy Equipment Operator Certification. ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is required to walk, stoop, or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, and is regularly exposed to extreme heat or cold, or temperatures consistent with outdoor weather.
