Boehringer Ingelheim Head of Site Support/BPE Office in Shinagawa, Japan

Basic purpose of the job

• Increase the competitiveness of the HPS Japan in BI global and the pharmaceutical industry

• Realize business efficiency improvement throughout the HPS Japan towards benchmark

• Provide sustainable support to transformational changes in the Organisations at HPS Japan

• Drive BPE (Business Process Excellent) according to Human Pharma Network as well as HPS Japan strategies, and deliver sustainable improvement

Accountabilities:

  1. Deliver the results as committed which are in line with the HPS Japan strategy and its priorities based on Annual Discussion

・Collect needs and analyse information from each Department in HPS Japan to generate BPE ideas/initiatives

・Contribute to achieve department goals by providing appropriate support

・Monitor the progress of initiatives and take necessary actions to achieve the targets

  1. Drive BPE initiatives to improve quality, competitiveness, efficiency, and effectiveness

・Establish virtual organization across HPS Japan and manage members to drive BPE initiatives smoothly

・Organise various types of workshop to generate BPE ideas/initiatives

・Coordinate important meetings/events such as AD, OPEC, and benchmark conference with internal and external functions

・Organize BPE award ceremony to cerebrate achievements and to encourage people for self-compassion (motivation)

  1. Ensure quality of BSC in HPS Japan based on the site missions /priorities

・Drive BSC workshop with related organizations

・Provide information such as benchmark study to develop BSC

・Set the clear BPE targets to organizations

・Monitor the progress and solve identified issues together with related function in a timely manner

・Report the monthly BSC result to related functions with summary

  1. Enhance awareness, knowledge, and skill of BPE within HPS Japan

・Conduct training, such as tool training of Lean/ 6 sigma and green belt

・Coach Kaizen idea development

・Introduce good practices and benchmarks from internal/external network

・Ensure that employees recognize the importance of challenge status quo spirits, and take actions managing a fear of failure

  1. Maximize synergy of BPE activities among BI Pharma Network sites

・Participate in international BPE meetings actively and exchange information.

・Share information by working closely with BI Pharma Network sites

・Manage relationship with internal/external stakeholders

・Communicate with external parties to identify our own strengths and opportunities

  1. Drive Kaizen/5S activities in HPS Japan

・Achieve the targets of Kaizen proposals by stimulate/activating Kaizen proposal activity

・Provide opportunities/hints for Kaizen

・Organize and manage Kaizen Committee

・Conduct regular assessment of 5S to increase of awareness of Quality culture

・Promote events, such as opportunities for awards, to keep motivations for contentious improvement and 5S activity

  1. Contribute to transformational change of organization and Talent Development

・Contribute to realise expected culture and mindset of members

・Provide development opportunities to members

・Maximize motivation of members through coaching

Requirements:

Knowledge

• Extensive knowledge of lean/6 sigma, VSM, KAIZEN, project management

• Knowledge of pharmaceutical productions, finance and change management

Skills

• Black (Green) belt (preferred if avaiable), Analytical skill (mathematical/statistical), strategic thinking,

coordination, negotiation, and conflict management skill set

• Business level English

Required Education:

<Degree / Education>

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience

<Major / Focus>

Background in business administrations, pharmaceutical science, engineering, production management,

material management, mathematics/statistics, or the equivalent in experience

Location:

Osaki office or Yamagata Plant
