Growing manufacturing company located in the greater Shelton area has partnered with Robert Half in their search for a Financial Analyst or Senior Financial Analyst to add to their team. Our ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of FP& A experience, with responsibilities including assisting with the budgeting process, forecasting, variance analysis, trend analysis, pricing/ cost analysis & reporting, sales analysis and reporting, KPI reporting, new product reporting, and other ad hoc requests. This role will also be responsible for the ongoing analysis of product margins. A BS Degree in a related field is needed as well as solid ERP experience and Advanced Excel skills. Our client seeks an individual who is career minded and ambitious, and also has a very strong analytical mindset. Key responsibilities

  • Combine efforts with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation and prioritization

  • Interpret performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities

  • Work closely with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

  • Team up with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process

  • Create and track forecasting reports

  • Administer weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting

  • Decipher and resolve internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

  • Equip effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support

  • Monitor monthly and quarterly performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources

  • Provide monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

    Requirements

  • Prior experience working within manufacturing, distribution or a similar industry

  • Ability to simplify complex problems and build solutions

  • 5-10+ years experience with advanced financial analysis, planning and budget controls required

  • Advanced skills within Microsoft Excel

  • Well-founded grasp of Margin Analysis

  • Budgeting experience desired

  • Expertise in forecasting & modeling

  • KPI Reporting experience

  • Proven knowledge of variance analysis

  • Strong familiarity with Corporate Financial Planning

  • Foundational knowledge in KPI Reporting

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, MBA preferred
