Responsibilities

What you'll do

Wieland currently has an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance - Electrician to join Wieland's Recycling center in Shelbyville, KY. The General Maintenance Electrician is responsible forperforming highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive electrical and maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goal and objectives.

his role will be located at Wieland Recycling - Shelbyville in Shelbyville, KY. This facility is currently under construction and is expected to be fully operational by the Fall. The initial schedule for this role will be 8-10 hour shifts from Monday - Friday. The Recycling facility will progress to be a 24/7 operation - so this person must be willing and able to work twelve (12) hour shifts, to include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime in late 2023 onward.

The ideal candidate will Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams. Inspect electrical components including transformers and circuit breakers. Use testing devices to identify and report electrical problems.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform minor electrical building repairs as necessary
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of facility machinery
  • Troubleshoot production equipment controlled by PLC controllers, using the troubleshooting tools supplied by a PLC software, preferably Siemens S7 or TIA
  • Troubleshoot VSD, preferably Siemens VFD's
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Diagnose problems, replace,or repair parts, test andmake adjustments as needed
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment,and plant facilities
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters,and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material,and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
  • Demonstrate teamwork and high-level communication skills
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

What you'll need

  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong electrical, and electrical controls knowledge. Good hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial knowledge
  • 4 years' experience in industrial electrical field
  • Proficiency in using multimeters and other measuring equipment to diagnose electrical problems in industrial equipment
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and small hand tools
  • PLC, BMS or other logic platform experiences (preferably Siemens, Allen Bradley / Etc.)
  • Robot programming, installations, troubleshooting and commissioning experience (Fanuc & ABB Preferred)
  • Basic Electricity/Electronics Knowledge.
  • Understand NFPA 70 (NEC), 70B, 70E, 79 codes
  • Have working knowledge of and can troubleshoot ethernet networks. PROFInet knowledge is an added plus
