JOB DESCRIPTION

This person will be the Lead Engineer for this area of the business. This key role will drive electrical/electronics development activity for all of the company’s business units. Support innovation and product development in the design of electronic circuitry for new products. This will include driving IOT and related interfaces with app development and other interfaces. Will partner with product development personnel, outside consultants, design firms, vendors and others in the process of designing and developing new products. Responsible for managing portions of projects appropriate to the experience level and expertise of the incumbent. Work will be performed according to established procedures and methods and will be reviewed for overall results.

Responsibilities:

• Create and develop sensors and electronics as required for company product development.

• Work with development engineers to create and implement solutions into new products.

• Analyze user needs and employ market-back innovation into new products.

• Research and create IOT solutions to integrate company products into a cloud-compatible connected world.

• Provide solutions to issues related to the connection of networks and platforms.

• Key member in Innovation brainstorming to discover new advancement potential for current company products and potentially new product offerings.

• Serve as point-of-contact with outside app developers and IOT developers to drive successful project completion.

• Test and evaluate circuits and components using approved methods and procedures. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and reports of test results.

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date project files for work assigned.

• Familiarize, modify and confirm accuracy of engineering database, to include bill of materials, packaging instructions, weight and dimensions and manufacturing cost information as directed.

• Establish and maintain product design history file in accordance with product development procedures as directed.

• Support any required electrical regulatory certification and testing work.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• 0+ years of experience. 1-3+ years of experience is preferred.

• Experience with hardware components, sensors, and microcontrollers. Experience with hardware components, sensors, and microcontrollers used in IOT devices is preferred.

• Experience with IOT development is preferred.
