Amazon Senior Marketing Productivity Planning Manager, Amazon Global Selling Asia in Shanghai, China

Amazon Global Selling Asia Marketing team is looking for a process improvement expert to drive productivity efforts across the organization in order to enable the business to operationally scale. This role will own a number of workstreams aimed at eliminating duplicate/redundant tasks, evolving how we work in order to be more effective and efficient. The successful candidate will look across businesses and industries to identify best practices that our organization can implement and improve the way work, creatively leverage tools, build mechanisms to deliver results and invent and simplify where current processes might be ambiguous, poorly defined or inconsistent. You will drive standardization and establish a common framework for measuring productivity impact across various initiatives. This role requires cross-functional partnership to define requirements and process solutions.

To be successful in this position, we seek an innovative and analytical person who has the knowledge and experience in marketing operations, and has the proven record to solve complex problems with simple and practical solutions. You will be a process expert with Day 1 mentality, always willing to innovate in order to deliver the right results. You will need to evolve/create processes and mechanisms that enable dynamic decision-making, hold teams accountable, deliver productivity improvements, scalability and cost-effectiveness. The right individual will be a strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to influence without authority. Cross-team coordination, problem-solving and analytical mindset, project management and executive presentation skills are essential.

This position is based in Shanghai, China.

Key job responsibilities

· Own projects and workstreams oriented around optimization and standardization of day-today tasks and operations, including exploring interim outsourcing solutions ahead of full tech automation.

· Own how Marketing team define and measure productivity, including owning the standard methodology for how we measure impact across our productivity initiatives.

· Partner with different sub-teams across the organization to understand different Marketing workstreams and leverage lessons learned to drive productivity improvement across our organization.

· Be the subject-matter expert on tools and capabilities to enable automation, ranging from quick and scrappy methods to full-tech solutions.

A day in the life

As a Senior Marketing Productivity Planning Manager, you will drive and manage the implementation of innovative, data-driven changes in Amazon Global Selling Asia Marketing organization. You will use strategic thinking to define and implement an efficient project plan. You will solve ambiguous problems without well-defined inputs and outputs, drive to the heart of the problems and identify root-causes. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to understand their productivity workstreams, build strong partnerships with leaders and stakeholders to establish and prioritize improvement programs, create milestone tracking, monitor progress, identify risks and support needed, see the projects from start to finish, communicate new/updated programs/processes to the wider organization and ensure trainings and execution are aligned following the changes. Most stakeholders are based in Shanghai while others are based in other locations in China and Rest of Asia.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing operations, program management or management consulting with proven ability to design workable solutions, drive projects to successful implementation and handle multiple ongoing projects;

  • Excellent analytical skills, data-driven decision making mentality and sound business judgement;

  • Proven ability to dive deep into complex processes and financial scenarios and deliver results;

  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams to deliver an organization-wide change agenda across multiple functions and geographies;

  • Excellent written and verbal communications in both English and Chinese, specific strengths in influencing decision makers and managing expectations;

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience presenting to senior leadership

  • Bachelor’s, Master's or Advanced degree in Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a highly analytical field;

  • Knowledge and experience in SQL and Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., Pivot tables and charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formula, etc.)

  • Knowledge and experience of product management methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen techniques;

  • Experience in marketing B2B products or services in Asia.
