RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides design and engineering support for power, energy, and infrastructure projects. Develops, evaluates, and implements electrical systems, products, and applications. Conducts research, performs tests, and modifies electrical equipment in order to increase the efficiency and quality of manufacturing and assembly methods and meet client demands.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares electrical designs and perform calculations in support of water, environmental, advanced manufacturing, and energy brands, incorporating all manufacturing technical requirements and specifications.

Creates conceptual/feasibility reports, cost estimations, detailed design drawings, and grounding and surge protection evaluations.

Leads electrical-focused projects and design tasks on large, electrical and non-electrical projects, including industrial facility power distribution, motor control and coordination, and lightning, grounding, and lightning protection.

Performs power system studies on industrial and utility systems, including grounding, lightning protection, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash hazard analysis

Assists with project scheduling and helps to monitor project budget and timeline.

Recommends safety improvements and adheres to all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to power, energy and infrastructure projects.

Designs fire alarm and general facility electrical systems.

Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of three years related industry experience.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

A valid driver's license with a good driving record for applicable vehicles, without restrictions, or limiting conditions. (Corrective lenses permitted)

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Must possess a thorough knowledge of the use, setup and operation of Windows-based computers and desktop applications such as MS-Word and MS-Excel.

Must be familiar with the design and specification of new equipment, including electrical distribution systems, motors, variable frequency drives, controls, lighting, electrical auxiliaries, etc.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
