The Job:

As an Associate Legal Counsel, you’ll be part of our Asia legal team in Asia working as an on-site employee.

Your primary role will assist the Asia Legal Team in areas of privacy, cybersecurity, data protection, e-commerce and special project support.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Keep abreast of evolving laws, regulations, and enforcement in areas of cybersecurity, data protection, privacy, ecommerce and take actions to ensure compliance.

• Work with SBD global privacy office and IT and execute new and updated company policies in the areas of privacy and data security.

• Provide day to day advice and support to the biz teams in these areas including reviewing contracts in these subject matters.

• Provide audit or checks on biz operations to ensure compliance in these areas.

• Report and coordinate efforts to respond any audits and enforcement actions from regulatory authorities.

• Provide support in special projects including re-structuring, down-sizing and liquidation

• Assist the Asia Legal Team in other legal matters as required

The Person:

• Education: LLB degree in China and LLM /JD degree in U.S. or U.K. or other major western law jurisdictions

• Work Experience: above 6 years working experiences in multinational companies in China with some experiences in supporting privacy and data protection, cybersecurity and supporting e-commerce business, commercial and restructuring/liquidation projects.

• Foreign Language: fluent in both oral and written English, skillful in writing legal documents

• Strong communication/interpersonal skills and project management or coordination ability

• Computer skills: skillful use of windows, outlook, excel, power point and on-line meeting systems working tools.

• Other qualification & quality: Passed China bar, high integrity, self-driven and has long term passion in in-house career
