Jamestown Sklallam Tribe Urinalysis Technician in Sequim, Washington

Jamestown Healing Clinic is seeking a dedicated Urinalysis (UA) Technician to join our team. This vital role involves various responsibilities related to urine sample collection, processing, reporting, and recording. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative, accounting, and computer skills, as well as a thorough understanding of substance use disorder and its impact on individuals, families, and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect urine samples from clients in a confidential and professional manner

  • Monitor and track drug testing processes while maintaining strict confidentiality

  • Process laboratory orders and post results for providers

  • Ensure a clean and sanitary UA restroom

  • Assist clients with questions and concerns regarding the UA process

  • Order testing supplies regularly

  • Adhere to JHC standard operating procedures and workflows

  • Maintain accurate records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)

  • Maintain ethical and professional conduct

  • Process urinalysis documentation and provide case management support

  • Collect, audit, and enter data into the TARGET database

  • Cross-train for other JHC positions

  • Adhere to all JHC policies and procedures

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Administrative and clerical experience

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • CPR/First Aide Certification

  • Understanding of substance use disorders.

  • Knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHRs)

  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment

  • Understanding of state and federal confidentiality regulations

  • Computer proficiency and data entry skills

  • Successful completion of a criminal background investigation

  • Current vaccine requirements

  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License

    What are the Preferred Qualifications for this position?

  • Associates Degree

  • Experience in business administration or office management

  • Previous experience working with patients with substance use disorders and/or primary care experience

  • Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal Laws and Regulations

  • Effective time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrate initiative, work independently with little supervision

  • American Indian/Alaska Native preferences apply
