As a Reliability Engineer you will LEAD by……….

  • Managing and coordinating for the Mechanical Integrity program, ensuring all applicable equipment is inspected, tested, and maintained according to best practices and is compliant with regulatory and corporate requirements with respect to tanks, pressure vessel, piping, and relief devices.

  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting expertise on all types of mechanical equipment (rotating & stationery).

  • Leading and participating in Root Cause Failure Analyses for chronic equipment failures or single failure events resulting in high financial impact.

  • Leading the equipment bad actor program and reliability improvement team for your assigned area.

  • Planning and coordinating work (using internal and external resources) necessary to complete tasks including PM, PdM, and corrective activities.

  • Facilitating equipment criticality analysis reviews to identify critical equipment, develop maintenance plans, and identify strategic/critical spare parts.

  • Utilizing RCM methodology to develop, document, prioritize, evaluate, and maintain equipment maintenance strategies.

  • Embracing and integrating Safety and Environmental rules and regulations in daily activities.

  • Supporting capital and expense project activities by incorporating design for maintainability and functionality, identifying necessary spare parts, and developing maintenance strategies where necessary. The safety of people and equipment will be top priority.

  • Adding, updating, and correcting equipment information and maintenance strategies in SAP.

  • Participating with cross-functional groups in incident investigations & completion of corrective actions.

  • Demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset and proactive approach to work activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate how you can successfully work in a demanding position that requires a large measure of self-direction, where you are expected to build trust and strive for excellence with minimal supervisory interaction. You will interface with numerous other BASF and contractor personnel who may work different shift schedules.

Your elements for success……

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering and relevant experience in Reliability/Maintenance engineering or leadership. Will consider strong relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to lead and work in teams.

  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in design, operation, and maintenance of various types of equipment (stationary and rotating).

  • Experience with Mechanical Integrity maintenance program management and non-destructive examination tasks and technologies. Process Safety Management (PSM) experience preferred.

  • Experience in developing and maintaining asset management strategies consisting of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Plans and Spare Parts evaluation.

  • Familiarity with PdM Technology such as vibration analysis, ultrasonics, thermography, oil analysis, etc.

  • Understanding of Maintenance corrective work identification, planning, scheduling, and execution best practices.

  • Strong problem-solving ability with experience in facilitating RCAs in a team environment.

  • Proficiency in SAP PM or similar CMMS systems. Must be able to navigate within the system as required to display and update equipment information (Work Orders, Maintenance Plans, Bills of Materials, Equipment Data, etc.)

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
