Assembles panel board sub-assemblies and interiors, including branch breakers. Packs panelboard components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies for shipment (moves and sorts parts and materials and maintains records of completed jobs. Reviews schedules, prepares line up and prioritizes jobs for assembly groups, moves and sorts parts and materials and maintains records of completed jobs. Co-ordinates the movement of Panels from Packout to the depot.
Prepares daily line up of assembly jobs. Reviews schedule for regular and special product orders. Refers to Kanban cards, bills of material, blueprints and shippers. Prioritizes order of jobs by reviewing due dates and makes sure parts are in stores. Sets up for assembly and packout and puts labels in boxes for each job.
Reviews schedule, shipper, Kanban card, bill of material, blueprint, breaker layout and bar code label for job information and prints pick List.
Follows quality procedures.Checks parts and work visually and with measuring instruments.Makes quality audits.Records information on forms.
Assemble panelboard with the aid of computers, scanning equipment, and the bill of material to insure that all necessary components are included.
Install main/branch breakers, including GFI, AFI or other similar breaker cables and connectors, per bill of material and secure. Assemble one way screws, permanent number strips, and handle lock-offs per BOM and layout.
Apply all labels, date code and complete with additional, required information.
Order cartons from other departments and carton barn. Orders cartons and pallets from power truckers. Inserts panelboard in carton. Move packed panel to correct pallet and prioritizes order of jobs by reviewing due dates.
Makes plastic and metal nameplates by inputting such data as catalog number, amps, bolts, PH and wire into computes and engraving equipment
Services workstation by moving parts and materials to and from work stations within group and to group from stores areas. Stocks works stations with parts, materials, labels, packing rings and pads, cartons and molds. Operates powered walking lift. Orders cartons from other departments.
Troubleshoots assembly operations. Works with assemblers, quality personnel and others to correct assembly problems.
Follows quality procedures. Checks packing work visually. Makes quality audits.
Counts, records, and reports production.
Maintains good housekeeping and cleans equipment.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Ability to follow quality procedures. Checks packing work visually. Makes quality audits.
One year of assembly experience preferred
Skills/Characteristics Necessary to Perform Essential Functions
Ability to turn on and start up computer.
- Ability to read and understand written materials including production information, inspection procedures, Kanban cards, schedules, shippers, bills of material, blueprints, breaker layouts, and measuring instruments.
