UPMC RN - Rehabilition Unit in Seneca, Pennsylvania
Purpose:
The Senior Professional Staff Nurse sets care standards, manages patient care, and collaborates with physicians, therapists, and families to ensure optimal outcomes. We provide physical, occupational, and speech therapy services, supported by nursing and physician oversight, to aid recovery.
Location: UPMC Northwest Hospital, Seneca, PA
Unit: Rehabilitation Unit
Status: Casual which offers scheduling flexibility
Shift: Variable
Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality nursing care through clinical expertise, judgment, and collaboration.
Identify opportunities for clinical quality and workplace improvement using evidence-based practices.
Act as a role model and leader in clinical expertise, teaching, and evidence-based practice.
Actively participate in shared governance and hospital-wide councils.
Mentor and develop new hires, students, and graduate nurses.
Create individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and families, ensuring holistic, patient-focused care.
Communicate effectively with all members of the care team and advocate for patients' needs.
Support continuous learning by sharing research, presenting on the unit, and fostering professional development.
Uphold a healthy workplace culture, prevent horizontal violence, and model work-life balance.
Demonstrate exemplary clinical judgment and critical thinking in patient care.
Work effectively in a dynamic, complex environment, handling multiple priorities.
Establish positive relationships with staff, physicians, and patients.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Minimum of 1+ year of RN experience
Current RN licensure in the state or under NLC.
BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
