Work Tasks to be performed

Agricultural Equipment Operator-

·         Workers must be able and willing to drive tractors and planters, and operate other mechanized farm equipment to plant, cultivate, and harvest fruit crops. Use farm equipment to cut, pull, dig, clean, chop, or bundle harvested crops. Load/unload harvested fruits or other materials manually or with mechanized equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks or hand trucks.

·         Workers must be willing and able

to mow, cut, and weed orchards. Prepare and/or clear land for planting using mechanized or hand equipment to remove trash, rocks, or other debris or material that may interfere with planting or harvesting activities.

·         Level land by moving dirt and other materials. Equipment may include tractors, dozers, planters, mowers, plows, sprayers, cultivators, power shears, chainsaws, bobcats, backhoe,

skid loaders, high lifts, and trucks or other vehicles.

·         Specific tasks and operations may include using specialty orchard tractors for mechanical pesticide spraying, mechanical herbicide spraying,

mechanical fungicide spraying, mechanical fertilizing, and mechanical weed mowing.

• Los trabajadores deben poder y estar dispuestos a conducir tractores y sembradoras, y operar otros equipos agrícolas mecanizados para plantar, cultivar y cosechar frutas. Utilice equipos agrícolas para cortar, tirar, cavar, limpiar, picar o agrupar cultivos cosechados. Cargar/descargar frutas u otros materiales cosechados manualmente o con equipos mecanizados como montacargas, transpaletas o carretillas de mano.

• Los trabajadores deben estar dispuestos y ser capaces para segar, cortar y desyerbar huertos. Prepare y/o limpie el terreno para plantar utilizando equipos mecanizados o manuales para eliminar basura, piedras u otros escombros o materiales que puedan interferir con las actividades de plantación o cosecha.

• Nivelar el terreno moviendo tierra y otros materiales. El equipo puede incluir tractores, topadoras, sembradoras, cortadoras de césped, arados, pulverizadores, cultivadores, cizallas eléctricas, motosierras, linces, retroexcavadoras,

cargadores deslizantes, elevadores altos y camiones u otros vehículos.

• Las tareas y operaciones específicas pueden incluir el uso de tractores hortícolas especiales para fumigación mecánica de pesticidas, fumigación mecánica de herbicidas,

fumigación mecánica de fungicidas, fertilización mecánica y corte mecánico de malezas.

Job Requirements

·         3 months of verifiable operation of agricultural equipment work experience.

·         Must anticipate being available to work the entire contract period.
